KAZIMIERZ · KRAKÓW · IN EVERY CORNER, A THOUGHT

A café bound
in books.

In Kraków's Kazimierz district, Cytat Café hides an inspiring thought in every corner — walls of books, an archway built from novels, and a small printed quote that arrives with every cup. Come for the coffee. Stay for the sentence that finds you.

Chapter One — The Café

A little world.
A thousand borrowed words.

The name says it: cytat is Polish for a quotation, and this café is written all over with them — on the walls, on the shelves, and on the little card that turns up beside your cup. The coffee is taken just as seriously: a blend created only for Cytat, from beans of five corners of the world, pulled on a lever espresso machine in full view of the room. Order at the counter, take a seat among the books, and your drink will find its way to you — with a few borrowed words for the road.

  • The shelves — Wall after wall of spines, one famous arch, and corners made for disappearing into a chapter.
  • The lever machine — Every cup is pulled by hand on a rare lever espresso machine — coffee as a small performance.
  • A blend of five corners — The house blend is made only for Cytat, from beans gathered from five corners of the world.

The Ritual — A few words for the road

Your coffee comes
with a thought.

Every order leaves the counter with a quotation — a card printed with a few lines from a great mind, different every time. One guest drew Winston Churchill; yours might be a poet. Polish publishers sometimes slip their newest novels into the deck, and the café trades in the other direction too: bring a book you no longer need, and it will join the shelves — your coffee is on the house.

“Miejsce inspirujące do życia”

“A place that inspires you to live”

Their own words, printed on their quotation cards.

A small ritual. A different sentence.

Tap the card or use Draw another. Five quotations, shuffled without repeating until all five have been drawn.

A sentence to take with you.

Word of mouth

Notes from other readers.

Lovely use of books all over the restaurant — and the quotes given with each coffee are good fun.

One last note, tucked into the cover

A note for
the owners.

Your café has a story worth finding. Right now, cytatcafe.pl opens on a hosting suspension page, while the website link on Google sends guests to a blank aggregator page.

This concept uses your own public pages for its photographs and the story it tells. A full version can add Polish, a reservations entry point, and a home for your events.
